AGNITIO has worked very closely with key police organizations worldwide with the first technology renditions being co-developments with some of the world’s most reputable police forces.
AGNITIO’s BATVOX was the first voice biometric tool for forensic applications implemented in real life police laboratories. Agnitio was the first company to deploy a 1-to-many identification system (ASIS) for police investigation, and today has been deployed in many countries of Europe and America.

Emilio Martinez - CEO
Emilio Martinez founded Agnitio in 2004 with four partners and is currently CEO and Chairman of the board. From 2000 to 2004, he held executive positions in several technology start-ups, such as Viaplus-Tech, a technology Web Portal, and AIA, a company offering unique security solutions based on proprietary Artificial Intelligence algorithms. From 1991 to 2000, Martinez worked in Lucent Technologies Microelectronics, leading engineering and research teams, such as the Interconnect Group in Bell Labs (Murray Hill, USA). Martinez holds a PhD in Physics from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, where he was assistant professor (1978-1988).
Javier Castano – COO
Javier Castaño was one of the founding partners of Agnitio in 2004. He currently manages the Operations and R&D efforts in Agnitio as Chief Operating Officer. During 2002 and 2003 he was head of the engineer department at BP Solar plant in Tres Cantos, Madrid. From 1986 to 2001, Castaño worked in Lucent Technologies Microelectronics. He spent two years at Bell Labs R&D groups, both in the USA and Spain and ended managing the Test, Technology and Yield Improvement department in the Tres Cantos plant. Castaño holds a MS in Electrical Engineering (Ingeniero superior de Telecomunicación) from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a PDG from IESE.

Philippe brings over 20 years of invaluable experience in rapidly growing revenues of information technologies, innovations, software and services companies. He has successfully led and managed international teams in Europe, Africa, Middle East, North and South America and South East Asia. Previously, Philippe was the CEO of Welcome Real-time (EMEA and the Americas regions) and the Americas General Manager of Bull CP8 Inc. (now Gemalto).
Marta García-Gomar - R&D Director
Marta García-Gomar leads the Technical department in Agnitio. She has been instrumental in the transferring and developing of the Speaker ID technology to the company. She joined the company right since its foundation in 2004, coming from the University group that developed the original technology that was transferred to Agnitio. Since then, she has been developing, adapting and implementing Agnitio technology in its different versions. She has filed for 10 patents. Marta holds a MS in Electrical Engineering (Ingeniero Superior de Telecomunicación) from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
Niko Brümmer - Chief Scientist
Niko Brümmer is one of the world most respected scientist in the field of Speaker recognition. He has participated in all NIST Speaker and language Recognition Evaluations since 2000. His contributions on application-independent evaluation of systems have been adopted by NIST in Speaker and Languare recognition evaluations since 2006. He received a M. Eng. and a Ph. D. degree from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. Since 1990, he worked with Spescom DataVoice, and in 2008 he joined AGNITIO as Chief scientist, developing the current technology of AGNITIO. His research interests include speaker and language recognition and the evaluation and improvement of pattern recognition and machine-learning technologies. He has co-chaired Odyssey 2008, the ISCA Speaker and Language Recognition Workshop.
Cinta Baena – CFO
Cinta Baena recently joined Agnitio as CFO. She has an experience of more than 10 years in the Financial field. From 1997 to 2001, she worked at KPMG as auditor of manufacturing and technological companies. From 2002 to 2006 she has worked as Financial Controller in international companies, managing and supporting inter-company transactions. Since 2006 she held a CFO position at Infodesa S.A, a technological company owned by Spanish Banks. Cinta has a Business Degree at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a AMP program at IE Business School.
